                Paolo Rizzatto was born in 1941 in Milan. He took his degree in architecture in 1965 at the Politecnico University of Milan. In his Milanese studio he works as a freelance architect, designer, interior designer and continues to develop his experience as an interior lighting designer. In 1978 he founded Luceplan together with Riccardo Sarfatti. He taught at various University Institutes: Universita degli Studi Abruzzese a Pescara, Columbia University in New York, the Politecnico University of Milan, Washington University in Saint Louis, Cranbrook Academy of Art, Michigan. His architectural works include: Daycare Center in Segrate (Milan, 1972), Single family vacation home in Formentera (Baleares, 1972), Residential quarter in Feltre (Belluno, 1973) Suburban home in Bazzano (Bologna, 1976), Double-family housing in Montesiro (Milan, 1985), Home for the elderly in Galliate (Novara, 1986). He designed products for Arteluce, Artemide, Luceplan, Alias, Cassina, Nemo, Molteni, Kartell, Knoll, TCI, Philips. His works have been published in magazines, catalogues, and books in Italy and abroad. Some of his projects, presented at seminars or exhibitions of architecture and design, are included in the permanent collections of various Foundations and Museums: Architectural Association in London, Milan Triennial , Wave Hill Museum Center for Environmental Studies in New York, Museum of Modern Art in New York, Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Museo della Scienza e della Tecnica in Milan, "Camere con vista" at the Abitare il Tempo in Verona, "Creativitalia" Tokyo, "Halogen-20 Jahre neues Licht" Durangewandte Kunst Museum in Cologne, "Capitales Europeennes du nouveau Design" Centre Pompidou in Paris, "Tecniques Discretes" Musee des Arts Decoratifs at the Louvre in Paris, "Mutants Materials" at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
